Dwayne Johnson To Not Return In Fast X And Instead Would Be Replaced By Jason Momoa

Dwayne Johnson had been a part of the Fast and the Furious franchise for a while now and even got his own spin-off movie alongside Jason Statham with Hobbs and Shaw. He was expected to make a return to the upcoming movie, however, that would not be the case. Jason Momoa Will Go From Villain To Family

Jason Momoa is set to play the villain in the upcoming Fast X. He will now be taking up the spot that Dwayne Johnson left behind. Much like how Paul Walker’s unfortunate absence from the series was filled by Jason Stathem’s Deckard Shaw. Johnson and Diesel had a falling out after the shooting of Fate of the Furious and that led to the actor also not appearing in the ninth installment of the franchise.

“Vin isn’t looking in the rearview mirror on this issue, he’s thinking about the future and right now, the future doesn’t include a reconciliation with Dwayne,” an insider had stated. “In fact, Vin is intent on topping the box office of all the movies that included Dwayne with Fast X, and the studio is supporting him. Nobody is telling Vin to stuff his pride and make nice with Dwayne. Vin’s vision for these movies is being supported in full, end of story.”

It was a decision made keeping the franchise and its success in mind rather than any personal issue posing as an obstacle to its rise. Momoa will be part of the team officially after the events that will take place in the upcoming movie.

Fast X will be available to watch in theatres from 19th May 2023.
