If there’s one front on which Microsoft seems to have the upper hand over Sony, it’s the Xbox Game Pass subscription that consistently keeps proving its amazing value for money. The service already comes with more than enough titles to keep players entertained for a long time, but as an additional cherry on top that makes the deal even sweeter, it offers Free Play Days for gamers to try out numerous games so they can decide whether they are worth purchasing.
And this time around, EA Sports is set to take over the Core and Ultimate variants of the Game Pass subscription, with a few of its top titles being offered for completely free.
Xbox Game Pass Brings a Weekend to Remember for Sports Fans
For those gamers who have been reluctant to buy the latest video games by Electronic Arts, Xbox Game Pass brings the perfect opportunity to let them get a taste of multiple major titles. Sports games may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but one would never know if they never try them out, and who knows, one of the free titles could become an instant favorite.
With its newest Free Play Days offer, Game Pass will let players check out a variety of different sports titles, the first of which is Madden NFL 24.
The latest title in the Madden NFL series promises the beloved sport at its most “realistic,” with the AI making much better decisions so that all of it feels as authentic as possible and players actually have to strategize their moves.
The second free game that Xbox Game Pass is offering this weekend is NHL 24, which should be right up the alley for ice hockey fans. The best part is that players can choose to play as “the legendary Bobby Orr” to skate around and absolutely own the opposing teams as well.
Then comes F1 23, which is basically a love letter from Electronic Arts to Formula One enthusiasts as they race around iconic tracks to be the first ones across the finish lines. Adding to the overall experience is a story mode called “Braking Point,” which promises some adrenaline-filled and dramatic moments for players who like a bit of plot in their sports games.
That is followed by PGA Tour, so Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscribers can live out their luxurious golfing fantasies with new features like Pure Strike on wonderful courses one has only dreamed of.
There’s More Where That Came From
Next up on the Xbox Free Play Days list is EA Sports WRC, which lets players create their dream cars in apparently the studio’s “biggest rally game ever.” This is a perfect title for fans of the DiRT Rally franchise since the team behind that series is the one that developed WRC as well. No-one has forgotten about baseball fans either because Super Mega Baseball is also being offered for free this weekend.
Keep in mind that the Free Play Days are only available for Game Pass Core and Ultimate subscribers, with the offer ending this Sunday, on January 14 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Of course, there is also a deal for every single Xbox player out there irrespective of the subscription variant, which includes EA Sports FC 24 being completely free until the aforementioned time and date.
All one has to do is download each game from the official Xbox store, which redirects the user to the Microsoft Store.
To avail the offer, make sure that the Game Pass Core or Ultimate subscription is active and signed in. For those accessing the titles directly from their consoles, click on “Subscriptions” in the Xbox Store and scroll down to the Free Play Days section of the page.
