Spider-Man is not only one of the most popular Marvel characters but also one of the most popular superheroes all around the world. And the most recent Spider-Man film, Across the Spider-Verse, has given fans some ideas for more such projects that the studio could develop in the future. Following the massive success of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, fans have enjoyed a number of Spider-Man projects.

Fans Demand A Spider-Verse Anthology Series

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been receiving the same reception as its predecessor, as fans and critics have scored the film 96% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also been flourishing at the box office, grossing over $140 million domestically already. The film not only features different versions of the superhero, but also implicates a connection to live-action Spider-Men.

However, despite featuring alternate versions of the superhero, it still focuses on Shameik Moore’s character, Miles Morales. And fans are now demanding a show that would be able to highlight the superhero’s different versions in a story of their own.

They are demanding an anthology series based on the Spider-Man multiverse, “where each episode is by a different animation studio with different art styles/mediums and tells a story with a different Spider-person.” Fans have suggested that it could be something similar to Star Wars animated anthology series, Star Wars: Visions.

Marvel Comics introduced a comic series based on the Spider-Man universe in 2014, which features alternate versions of Spider-Men as they come together to fight against Morlun and his family. Over the years, Sony has also established a multiverse, but there are still a lot of alternate versions that have not been explored enough in TV series or films.

Spider-Man Fans Suggest Ideas For the Anthology Series

As a Twitter user suggested the idea, fans came in with their own suggestions about following up with the series. Many claimed that it would be so much more interesting with the use of different animation styles. Most of the fans seemed on board with the idea and have even suggested names for the anthology series.

“Call it something like “Stories across the Spiderverse” or the “Spiderverse Anthology” if you wanna be basic,” one fan shared on Twitter. Some also suggested that there might be a possibility the studio has already started working on it. Fans named the different versions of the superhero that they would love to see in future projects, including Spider-Gwen.

The ideas did not stop there as one fan suggested that they should keep the series tied with Across the Spider-Verse, showing Miguel O’Hara recruiting each version by the end of an episode. The idea seems impressive. However, it is unclear if the studio would plan such a project in the future.
