While this fan has waxed lyrical regarding the game, he isn’t the only one. Many more fans have taken to community forums to express their anticipation for the game. One fan on Reddit has even made the bold claim that Dune: Awakening feels like a cross between Rust and No Man’s Sky.

The developers of the game had previously posted on X that the player is not going to be the main character in the Dune universe, and the transparency has resonated with fans, skyrocketing the already popular game.
While most fans are plenty pleased with the game, some of them have already found something to be disgruntled at. One fan wrote in the comments,
Why do they use Denis’ movies as promotion and “inspiration” if evidently the visual style of the game has nothing to do with those movies? You haven’t even respected the shape of the worm.
While there will always be people who will be upset, the majority of the fans are raring for the game to launch of Dune: Awakening.

From the success of Palworld, one can already imagine how gratifying it would be to do so on the vast, deadly expanse of Arrakis.
The game is also going to feature a new mechanic where players can save blueprints and reconstruct structures if they have enough resources. This will come in especially handy in the southern part of the desserts where Coriolis sandstorms are going to destroy any structures erected every week.
Players will have to showcase their mettle in setting up a proper production chain and harvesting operation to gain wealth but doing so also guarantees enemies. All in all, the game is set to be a massive installment in the Dune franchise.
