Moss-Bachrach revealed the photograph was taken at an AFI luncheon where The Bear‘s cast met Spielberg. The Jaws director admitted that he was a fan of the show and had asked to pass on his praise to Moss-Bachrach through a common friend. However, Moss-Bachrach admitted that his friend forgot to pass on the message.

“I guess we have a mutual friend. And my friend, who I thought was my friend, decided not to tell me that Stephen Spielberg texted him to say like how much he loved this TV show I’m working on.”

Moss-Bachrach made the above statement regarding how his friend forgot to tell him about Spielberg’s message. The actor joked that the goof-up had him questioning all his friendships. Moss-Bachrach added that when he confronted his friend the latter said it was better if the actor received the praise directly from Spielberg, adding to Moss-Bachrach’s frustration.

In February 2024, Moss-Bachrach was confirmed to be a part of the cast which includes Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, and Joseph Quinn as members of Marvel’s first family who will feature in the upcoming film. During his conversation with Kimmel, Moss-Bachrach expressed his excitement for playing The Thing.

When asked how long he knew he would be playing the role, Moss-Bachrach joked that he knew it all his life, implying it is one of his dream roles. Furthermore, Moss-Bachrach geeked out about the comic book roots of Ben Grimm, showcasing his affection for the character.

The Bear star also added that he had read the film’s script but did not disclose any plot details. The Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman, who previously worked on WandaVision.
