Mortal Kombat 1, the latest entry in the three-decade-old fighting video game series, has received mixed reviews from fans. Some enjoy the new content, while others lament the broken gameplay.
Adding to the latter, it seems like another glitch has been discovered in the game, and Ed Boon won’t be too happy about it. That is because it violates every standard of fair play in the game.
Mortal Kombat 1’s Cyrax Is the Latest Kameo Fighter Being Used for Dirty Play
Mortal Kombat 1 has a dynamic roster filled with incredible fighters like Peacemaker, Homelander, and Omni-Man. The game also allows you to have Kameo Fighters, providing a helping hand to the main fighter.
A clip was shared by an individual on Twitter showing Cyrax, one of the many Kameo fighters in the game, being used in a glitch. The glitch prevents Cyrax from leaving after executing the attack; instead, he halts and stays on the battlefield. This was shared by an individual on Twitter:
Seen a few clips of Cyrax outstaying his welcome with selfdestruct in between rounds, and it turns out Ermac can do it on purpose with EX lift, giving guaranteed damage going into the next round

Yeah, this is cheap, definitely not expecting this to stay in the game 😂 pic.twitter.com/Wf9JR0RbOf
The glitch seems to work with Ermac’s EX lift and Cyrax’s Kameo attack. Since the bonus damage output isn’t an intended mechanic, Ed Boon and the company will probably patch the glitch soon.
With Complaints Around Mortal Kombat 1’s Gameplay, Netherrealm Has to Act Fast

The clip above shows that the Cyrax glitch can be used to chain damage that carries over to the next round. However, even before conversations around this glitch began, there were numerous complaints players had with the game.
This includes the game’s subreddit being flooded with posts dedicated to players complaining about the gameplay. This is what gamers complained about on the subreddit:
Can We Stop Pretending MK1 Is Good Now? It’s Been A Year.

It seems like fans are beginning to think that NetherRealm Studios only cares about the money:
I know they only care about money…. But WTF

Some others also mentioned charging so much for DLC with the gameplay being so broken that it is bizarre. While much new content is frequently being dished out for the game, none will appeal to players until the gameplay improves.
