Known for playing Stu in the universally beloved Hangover franchise that launched Bradley Cooper to stardom, Ed Helms initially grew to prominence when he joined The Daily Show cast in 2002. But apart from being an accomplished actor and a comedian, Helms does have expertise in performing stunts, which came in handy during his ongoing battle at the actor’s backyard.

Like his The Office counterpart, Helms explained he was fuming following the wrecking of his yard by the raccoons, and no amount of anger management classes were going to help him this time.

The Elaborate Pranks From Raccoons Are Getting Too Much for Ed Helms

During his appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyer in order to promote his upcoming comedy Family Switch, Ed Helms opened up about the ongoing demolition of his yard at the hands of raccoons. And it seems things have reached a breaking point after the actor barely escaped injuring himself after being tripped over by the raccoons. Recalling the hilarious incident, The Hangover Star joked that his expertise in performing stunts helped him avoid getting injured. He said,

“Thankfully, I’ve made a lot of movies and done a lot of stunts, and I was able to incorporate sort of my falling technique… About halfway through, I kind of-I kind of moved into a relaxed role,”

While it doesn’t seem that The Hangover Star is winning this battle against the Raccoons anytime soon, the video of him tripping over did give his wife a chuckle, making the commotion worth it.

Ed Helms’ Stuntman for The Hangover 2 Was Unfortunately Not So Lucky

Unlike Helms, who turned out lucky, unfortunately, this wasn’t the case for his Stuntman back during the production process of The Hangover 2. Scott McLean, who was standing in for Ed Helms during the car chase sequence found himself in a near-fatal accident following an alleged error from the coordinator, resulting in a “serious and unplanned head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle.” This led to a lawsuit being filed against Warner Bros. at the time, whose spokesperson did come forward to issue a statement.

“We were shocked and saddened by this accident and have been working closely with Scott and his family throughout his treatment and recovery. We have offered continual support since the accident occurred and we are working together to try and resolve any outstanding issues.”

McLean, who did recover from the near-fatal injury, reportedly was still looking for compensation years after the accident, and even when the threequel debuted, he was still in search of closure.
