Eiichiro Oda Wants Sanji to Get the Most Useless Devil Fruit Power But Zoro Gets One of the Strongest in One Piece History That Nearly Beats Luffy Gear 5

Zoro and Sanji get entirely different Devil Fruit Powers, One Being the Strongest and One Being Useless.

SUMMARY

  • Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, revealed what Devil Fruit powers Nami, Zoro, Sanji, and many other members of the Straw Hat crew would have if they ever obtained one.
  • While all the members get the devil fruit powers similar to their persona, Zoro and Sanji are the only ones who have different powers compared to their personalities.
  • Although Zoro gets the powers of one of the strongest characters in One Piece, Sanji gets the power that is useless for him.

In the universe of One Piece, Devil Fruits are an unparalleled source of power. However, not every member of the Straw Hat Pirates in One Piece possesses Devil Fruit powers. Eiichiro Oda may have provided an answer to the riddle of who will eat which demon fruit. Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, revealed what Devil Fruit powers Nami, Zoro, Sanji, and many other members of the Straw Hat crew would have if they ever obtained one in the SBS for One Piece volume 98. The majority of the devil fruits fit their persona, however, they may not portray them equally.

Devil Fruit Powers Given By Eiichiro Oda to Straw Hat Pirates

Oda answers a fan question regarding which Devil Fruits would best suit Nami, Zoro, Sanji, Usopp, and Franky in the 98th volume of One Piece. Nami’s Fruit is the Rumble Rumble Fruit, which grants the wielder lightning power. Kaido’s strong Mythical Zoan Fish Fish Fruit would be given to Zoro. Sanji would be given the Swim Swim Fruit, which allows him to swim through solid surfaces. Usopp would be the recipient of the Pocket Pocket Fruit. Franky would be the recipient of the Arms Arms Fruit.

The rest of the straw hat pirates already have devil fruit powers that have contributed strength and it would be odd now to change them. No Straw Hats may obtain the Devil Fruit talent at this point in the series. However, the question of why Oda granted Zoro and Sanji such disparate abilities remains unanswered.

Difference Between Sanji and Zoro’s Devil Fruit Powers

Though the majority of these Devil Fruits make perfect sense, it still begs the question of why Zoro and Sanji received such different Devil Fruits. Zoro’s devil fruit fits perfectly to the strength level and his persona, while Sanji’s is much more different and does not help him in any way at all. When discussing Zoro’s devil fruit abilities, Oda states that the fruit would not be for Zoro, but for his sword, because it would be awesome if his blade could transform into a dragon.
However, there is no explanation for Sanji’s devil fruit powers. Sanji’s devil fruit helps him to swim on solid surfaces which makes no sense for Sanji as his form of fighting involves using his legs which would be very difficult while swimming.

Still, both of them don’t need any kind of devil fruit powers to show their strength and abilities and win a fight. They are both extremely powerful and are the strongest members of the Straw Hat Pirates.
