New details in a leaked financial report are aimed at the scale of this DLC and how big it will be. Another report from VGC talks about the quality of the upcoming Bandai Namco Games and cancelled projects by the company. This distribution company owns a small part of From Software.
Ziostorm, a famous Elden Ring YouTuber, posted on X a small part of the financial report of the Kadokawa Corporation, owners of From Software. In this report, there is a mention of “large-scale” content for Elden Ring, referring to the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Ziostorm also refers to this document as From Software is taking this DLC as a big contributor to the earnings of the quarter that it launches.
Bandai Namco is in trouble?
In this news article, Bandai Namco has confirmed that it has canceled at least five games. The company has been losing revenue year after year. According to Bandai Namco, they will increase the quality of their games moving forward.
The main reason for this decrease in revenue is that in the last fiscal year, Elden Ring sold a huge number of copies that other Bandai Namco games couldn’t replicate. They praise the good sales of Tekken 8 and again mention the large-scale Elden Ring DLC.
Shadow of the Erdtree was announced back in March 2023, and no other detail has been given of the possible date of release for this content. The only hope and possible date to have new information about this DLC is the second anniversary of the game. This will come later this month.
