Miyazaki has mentioned from time to time that the punishing nature of his Soulslike games is what makes them interesting. The sense of accomplishment after getting through a difficult stage is what hardcore fans love about the Soulslike genre.

Everyone who is complaining about Shadow of the Erdtree‘s difficulty level must be new to the genre since Hidetaka Miyazaki‘s Soulslike games are never easy. This trend can be noticed in all his video games, as he believes that the challenging factor makes the game much more interesting.
He recently acknowledged the difficulty complaints in an interview with The Guardian, stating that lowering the difficulty would ruin the game.
If we really wanted the whole world to play the game, we could just crank the difficulty down more and more. But that wasn’t the right approach – Had we taken that approach, I don’t think the game would have done what it did, because the sense of achievement that players gain from overcoming these hurdles is such a fundamental part of the experience.
If you’re struggling to beat the new bosses, try out the new DLC weapons. Many players on social media are also wondering if the legendary Elden Ring player, ‘Let Me Solo Her,’ would come out of retirement just to destroy these new bosses.
