There’s no doubt that Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is one of the best game expansions we’ve ever seen. Although the DLC has been out for quite a while now, it still has issues that FromSoftware has been working hard to get around.
Despite their best efforts, it seems like some bugs are still plaguing the game. One of these broken mechanics has affected Shadow of the Erdtree‘s boss fights, and the community demands an immediate fix.
Shadow of the Erdtree’s Radahn Fight Ruined By Animation Glitches
Ever since Shadow of the Erdtree‘s release on June 21, Promised Consort Radahn has been giving fans quite a lot of trouble. Between his complex move set, high stats, and the tendency to obscure the player’s vision with AoE spam, this form of Radahn is considered to be one of the most demanding bosses we’ve ever seen in Elden Ring.
The worst part is that the fight against Promised Consort Radahn gets ten times worse due to various visual glitches and bugs. Over on Reddit, one player presented a video showcasing the problem with Radahn’s striking animations.

In the clip above, we can see Promised Consort Radahn dealing severe damage to the player even before his sword manages to strike. Many in the community have been facing this issue for weeks and still can’t comprehend why FromSoftware has released a patch to fix his animation glitch.

It’s clear that with these issues, Radahn is giving the majority of the players grief at the end of the new expansion. However, it gets so much worse. Many in the community have also reported that Radahn can duplicate himself during the fight and send two versions of himself to wreak our Tarnished.
While it’s sad to see one of the best gaming expansions released in recent years to get dragged down by bugs, we, fortunately, live in an age where gamers don’t need to stay bugged forever. FromSoftware is likely already working on a solution to fix various issues related to Radahn’s takedown in Shadow of the Erdtree.
Players Believe Shadow of the Erdtree is Too Difficult
Despite the glaring issues of Shadow of the Erdtree, it’s a phenomenal DLC that brings tons of new things to the base game. However, in recent weeks, we’ve seen many players take to social media to complain about the DLC being too difficult.
A lot of criticism towards the DLC is aimed at its boss fights, most of whom, such as Radahn, hit much harder and take way more punishment than any enemy from the base game, even after getting a bunch of Scadutree Fragments and Revered Spirit Ash upgrades. Players state that the bosses’ movesets are everything from “ridiculous” to “broken.”
Shadow of the Erdtree continues FromSoftware’s long-running tradition of delivering the most gut-wrenching difficulty with its DLC, so the challenge it brings isn’t really surprising.
While the developers sometimes do nerf bosses post-release, it’s still unknown if they will make such moves around this time. However, it’s unlikely, considering Hidetaka Miyazaki considers the DLC’s difficulty as an integral part of the experience.
