Elden Ring’s DLC is testing even the most veteran players’ skills, with many claiming it to be the toughest expansion ever released by FromSoftware. With enemies scaled beyond even late-game bosses, Shadow of the Erdtree pulls no punches and will test your limits.

The final fight in the DLC is widely regarded as the toughest fight so far, except for a certain fire-breathing denizen of the Jagged Peaks. The final boss is so “broken,” as some would put it, that many gamers resort to summoning, a tactic that did not go well for one player. Spoilers Ahead.

Jolly cooperation has been a part of the FromSoftware formula for many years now, starting back with Demon’s Souls on the PS3. Summoning your friends, or even strangers, for a difficult boss is a great way to enjoy the game, though many would say it’s not the “right” way to play it.

With only Sekiro lacking any online capabilities, Elden Ring players can summon their friends or even well-known players such as Let Me Solo Her. Usually, when inviting these specialized players, they would perform a specific role throughout the fight, whether that was drawing attention and tanking damage or taking down the boss themselves.

However, given the popularity of these names, there are many impostors now who like to engage in a bit of trolling. This is the case with Redditor Waste-Potential-3288, who decided to enlist the help of a player named “Let Me Solo Plzfor their battle against Promised Consort Radahn. If you thought Starscourge Radahn from the base game was difficult, this version of the General is going to blow you away.

As such, it’s customary for many players to enlist the help of several buffs and items to help improve damage output and defense stats. The Redditor states his summon went through an entire buffing routine, only to be taken out with a single hit by the boss. There’s no bad blood, though, as even Waste-Potential-3288 called it a “10/10 bit.”

The Elden Ring DLC Is a Major Point of Contention for Gamers

FromSoftware has a practice of making the DLCs much harder than the base game. But this seems to have become an issue given Elden Ring’s much wider audience reach. The team has released a patch that enhances the Scadutree Blessings, but this has triggered a wave of backlash against changing the game for “casuals.”

However, the Blessings are an entirely optional factor in the DLC, and players who want a challenge can complete the entire experience without taking on a single Blessing. Unlike the umbilical cords in Bloodborne, these Blessings have no bearing on the events of the story and are strictly to help make the player stronger.

Implementing such a system also allows for scaling of difficulty. Now, players can choose just how difficult they want the game to be instead of the patch being blanket nerf or buff to all stats and enemies within the DLC.
