Elden Ring is the pinnacle of the Soulslike genre and, fortunately, the developers did not lock this genre on one platform for everyone to enjoy. Players are scattered across various platforms and some of them have some ground to cover to play the upcoming expansion.
Shadow of the Erdtree is right around the corner and the gaming community is beyond excited; however, not everyone can dive right in. FromSoftware revealed that the players will need to vanquish one omnipotent foe and the numbers are not looking good for one platform.
Xbox Players Need to Get Ready for One Elden Ring Boss
The expectations are high for this upcoming expansion and the developers have much to share. As the release date draws closer, more previews are being released, and it highlights the new additions like a new combat technique in Elden Ring and boasts that the map is on par with the base game and will encourage the players to explore and wander about. Unfortunately, not everyone can advance until they defeat Mogh and the gap between Xbox and PlayStation users is extremely wide.

Player percentage per platform that have beaten Mogh:
Steam – 37.8%
PlayStation – 34.7%
Xbox – 17.7% pic.twitter.com/6yAS2K29cO
There is an achievement where players can encounter and fight Mogh, and the developers made it a requirement before moving on to Shadow of the Erdtree and it is not looking good for one platform.
Xbox player need to get good

This opens a small window of opportunity to stoke the flames of the console wars and for players on rival platforms to make fun of and insult the skill level of those on the other side. The stats can also be used as a reference to show that there are way fewer players on the Microsoft side of gaming.
There is still time to turn things around and for players to make the most of it before FromSoftware drops the massive expansion. FromSoftware may have made a mistake in enforcing this requirement, but in hindsight, it will motivate the gaming community to try even harder despite the difficulty, which is the core of the genre.
Elden Ring Will Encourage the Players to Be Better for the DLC
The Soulslike genre is not for the faint of heart and not everyone will have fun with being bested countless times by powerful enemies. The developers intended the difficulty to be prevalent in their projects and for good reason, which is to force the players to take every defeat as motivation and savor the moment of victory.
There is still time for those who have yet to beat Mogh to catch up with those who did right before the official release. Anything is possible with hard work and commitment by a player’s side and defeating this boss will set the bar for what players can expect.
Players can consider Mogh as the unofficial trial before the expansion, which will be used to gauge their skills and determine whether they are prepared to face what is coming. FromSoftware has faith in the players and wouldn’t enforce this requirement if they knew it was impossible.
Regardless of platform, some have done the impossible, and if they can do it, so can others.
