Many players try to avoid a disconnect by playing the main game first so they don’t dive blindly into the DLC. However, some of the flaws they’ve heard from those who have already experienced the expansion are causing them to go through a serious loss of hype.

Many players have said their desire to play has diminished after hearing things about the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. The biggest concern is that many areas are quite barren, and there isn’t much to do. There are even complaints of things like exploration rewards being less than expected and the tree fragment system working poorly.

The complaints about the DLC do not end there. There is even frustration that the bosses, arguably the most prominent feature of the addition, are either inadequate or overpowered. Yeah, to fans who haven’t played this before, these things seem like huge flaws. But is it really like that?

Probably, yes. Many fans have said they haven’t had the chance to experience any of this personally because they haven’t fully played the DLC. However, hearing about these flaws from others has dampened their excitement. To them, it seems a bit rushed and undercooked, at least from the outside.

Although these flaws undoubtedly seem to reduce the gaming experience from the outside, Shadow of the Erdtree is a generally stable and successful expansion.

Many fans who have already experienced it have tried to persuade those who have lost their excitement to give it another chance and commit to this adventure again.

Although there is currently no report on the final sales figures of the DLC, it would not be wrong to assume that this interest will continue and sales will increase further.

Particularly, as mentioned before, there is a significant audience aiming to finish the main game before purchasing the addition. This is likely going to further boost sales and lead to new record announcements.

So, what do you think about the expansion? Are you waiting to finish the main game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
