Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, is around the corner. After almost a year of waiting, players got a release date and price for the game just a couple of days ago. A huge amount of new content will be in this very anticipated expansion, including new weapons, new spells, and especially new and amazing bosses.
Thanks to an interview with Famitsu, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of Elden Ring, has clarified some things about how you can access this new DLC. You have to defeat specific bosses to play Shadow of the Erdtree.
Shadow of the Erdtree will challenge Elden Ring players
After the gameplay reveal of Shadow of the Erdtree, Elden Ring players are very excited to play this new content of the best-selling game by From Software. With more than 20 million units sold, Elden Ring marked a new record for this Japanese studio that popularized the Dark Souls franchise. According to Hidetaka Miyazaki, the director of the game, this is the largest expansion ever created by the studio. Two very difficult bosses have to be defeated to access the DLC content.
In a recent interview with the popular Japanese videogame magazine Famitsu, Hidetaka Miyazaki talked about Elden Ring, specifically the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. He talked about the meaning of the DLC name and how it is the largest expansion ever.
He also clarified how you can access the DLC in the game. To go to the Shadow Lands, you have to go to the Mohg Lair Egg after defeating Mohg and Radahn. For this reason, many players could have a hard time entering the new area of the DLC.
The shadow of the Erdtree makes you defeat some very complicated bosses
This revelation could be extremely difficult for some players who have never defeated these two bosses. Mohg and Radahn are very complicated enemies. Miyazaki is challenging all the fans to defeat these enemies to enjoy the new area. The Shadow Lands could be accessed after defeating these dangerous bosses. The egg in Mohg’s Lair will be key to the story of Shadow of the Erdtree. Miquella will play an important role in the new main story.
The new Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, will be available next June 21 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. The cost of the expansion will be $39.99, making it the most expensive additional content ever produced by From Software. This DLC will also have a Collector’s Edition with a statue of Messmer, The Impaler.
