Elden Ring Fan Theory Says Ranni and Miquella Are on Bad Terms
Ranni is a witch in Elden Ring and a demigod, and Miquella is the elder twin brother of Malenia. According to one fan, Ranni and Miquella have some disputes. The fan took to the r/EldenRingloretalk subreddit and said that they may have been working together, but Ranni betrayed Miquella.
They gave a proper explanation behind their theory, saying that Miquella didn’t like the gods and the Greater Will “by extension” and wanted to get out of their influence. This may have led him to cooperate with the Carians, Ranni, and “possibly Rykard” to plan the Night of the Black Knives to enable deaths.

The Night of the Black Knives is a key event in the game where the rune of death is stolen from Maliketh. They further added that Miquella may have wanted to get the power of the Elden Ring and “strip himself of grace and divest himself of his flesh in the ensuing chaos,” but Ranni betrayed him and carved the Cursemark of Death into her flesh instead of Miquella.

The fan did not stop there and said that the betrayal by Ranni is the reason why Miquella sent Black Knives to kill her and added that the Black Knives are also working with Albinaurics to guard the entrance to the Haligtree.
However, he failed to “divest himself of his flesh” and compelled Mohg to kidnap him to eventually use his blood magic so that he could “achieve his goals.” They acknowledged that what they are saying is a “crazy theory” and that they are “open to challenge.”
