Over the years, FromSoftware has put out plenty of good games that have had gamers begging for more. The most recent example is Elden Ring. However, there are many gamers who have been asking the question of when FromSoftware and its CEO, Hidetaka Miyazaki, will make a return to one of its most popular franchises.

With the recent surge in Souls-like games that have been popping up from different studios, gamers are wondering what will come next from game developers. The main franchise that gamers want to see more of in regards to the Souls-like series is Bloodborne, and people are already getting sick of waiting.

Why Haven’t We Already Seen a Sequel to Bloodborne, but We Are Already Seeing DLC for Elden Ring?

Gamers are furious that Elden Ring is getting a DLC before Bloodborne gets a sequel or a remake.

It’s a no-brainer to say that Elden Ring is the next big Souls-like game that has taken the world by storm, especially with its DLC theoretically right around the corner. But now everyone is waiting for new Elden Ring content, as there are still some gamers who are waiting for more Bloodborne content.

Unfortunately for those who are awaiting that announcement, it is highly unlikely you will ever see it, and the reason behind this is because FromSoftware, over the past few years, has opted out of creating sequels for its franchises and has focused more on creating brand-new franchises from the ground up as it draws in more players.

The last time FromSoftware created multiple games for one specific title was the Dark Souls series, which had its ups and downs. The first and third games were celebrated as some of the best in the Souls-like category, whereas the second game was hated by many people in the community.

Sadly, this may have put FromSoftware off making any sequels for its future franchises, as clearly there will always be a drop in quality to provide more quantity. This is something the gaming community does not want, but if the development team has the same amount of love and care for the Bloodborne franchise as it does for Elden Ring, then this likely won’t be the case.

Even though Bloodborne did receive a DLC, it sadly ended there, leaving many gamers in desperation for more Eldritch horrors to fight. Which puts FromSoftware into another situation, as gamers aren’t just asking for a sequel; they are also asking for a remake of the original game, and they are sick of waiting.

Will Gamers Settle for a Remake of Bloodborne, or Will They Only Be Happy With a Sequel?

If Bloodborne does get a remake, it won't be for a few more years, according to FromSoftware's history.

It may not look like it, but FromSoftware’s Bloodborne is almost 9 years old, and even though it is that old, it still looks rather recent in terms of graphics and content. But some gamers believe that Bloodborne should be one of those lucky few that deserves a remake after it has become one of the most popular Souls-like games of all time.

This wouldn’t be the first time that a Souls-like game that was worked on by Hidetaka Miyazaki would have a remake, as back in 2020 we got a remade version of Demon’s Souls. However, this remake did take over 11 years to arrive and was only available on newer consoles.

But this is a good sign that we could see a remake sometime in the future regarding Bloodborne, but it is highly unlikely to be coming on the current generation of consoles, as it would more likely be aimed as an initial release for the next generation of consoles, just like Demon’s Souls.

If it does take another two years for us to receive a Bloodborne remake, many gamers will have most likely lost their interest in that title, as there will undoubtably be other Souls-like games releasing over the next two years that could easily outperform Bloodborne in more ways than one, and if that does happen, the only thing that could save this title would be a sequel.

What do you think about Bloodborne not having a sequel or remake after over 9 years? Are you looking forward to the Elden Ring DLC, or would you rather have a new Bloodborne game? Let us know in the comments!
