After two consecutive fantastic games like Elden Ring and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, FromSoftware and Hidetaka Miyazaki are looking for a new way to impress fans and players. After more than 20 million copies sold with Elden Ring, the studio is thinking about what kind of project could be similar in terms of success.

In the past, Hidetaka Miyazaki harbored doubts about certain games’ reception from fans, but these doubts have now dissipated, and the director’s performance has exceeded expectations.

There is a big possibility that the title that will alienate players and fans is Bloodborne, given the simple fact that it was just available on PS4. At the moment, Sony, which has the rights to the IP, didn’t talk about a sequel or launch it on other platforms.

Other titles like Déraciné, an exclusive PSVR game, could have the same problem as Bloodborne; this is the only title that has some kind of limitation to make players leave out of the experience. Miyazaki never confirmed this, but in other interviews, like his interview in 2021, when he is asked about Bloodborne, he always says that is a Sony decision.

The Future of Hidetaka Miyazaki and FromSoftware Is a Mystery

Hidetaka Miyazaki's next project is a mystery.
Hidetaka Miyazaki’s next project is a mystery.

Miyazaki has mentioned several times that, in the future, he will not direct all the projects that FromSoftware does; he is very open to making space for new directors. He didn’t mention if he would work with Sony again; if this happens, a lot of new things could happen, like the Bloodborne sequel. There is no certainty about what will be the next project for this creator.

FromSoftware is currently working on Shadow of the Erdtree, which will launch on June 21 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. This will be the biggest expansion ever created by FromSoftware, and it will set the bar very high for future DLC.

After this content, there is no information about upcoming games.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
