There are tons of ways in which you can enjoy Elden Ring. A classic way is to use basic sword and shield combinations and slowly level up as you progress through the game. Another is to find your unique playstyle at the beginning and then improvise based on the weapons you find later in the game.
However, there are certain builds that combine major damage effects in the game, and this one fits right into that niche. Poison and blood damage are both hardcore ways of losing health, but when they’re in your favor, you can feel like an Elden Lord by spending just a few hours in the game early on.
Playing the Venomous Bloodblade Makes You Feel Like You’re the Boss in Elden Ring
There are several builds to go for in Elden Ring, but some are interesting enough to combine multiple ways of doing damage. Usually, players stick to one kind of damage (such as blood/bleed) and then build their loadout around that. However, Venmouse Bloodblade has you dealing both poison and blood loss damage to enemies, with a lot of aggressive movesets in the mix.
Ideally, you’ll be using the Scavenger’s Curved Sword and the Bandit’s Curved Sword. Dual-wielding these will make you almost unstoppable, given how these weapons support passive damage along with the active damage they anyway do. Your passive damage is built by poison in one hand and bleeding in another.
The White Mask and Mushroom Crown are relatively light armor pieces that let you medium-roll. Meaning, you don’t have to worry about being agile when wielding this build. In fact, improving your Dexterity and Strength points makes you push this loadout better. Since you don’t have a shield to put you at defensive angles, it’s best to get used to moving around enemies.
As part of your Talismans, make sure you’re equipping Winged Sword Insignia, Kindred of Rot’s Exultation, and Millicent’s Prosthesis. Together, these ensure that your Attack Power has a significant buildup and your passive (blood + bleed) does even more damage.
Moreover, invest points in your Vigor and Endurance as well, so that worrying about stamina and health isn’t an issue in the long run. Also, using skills like Seppuku and Poisonous Mist empowers your overall build even more.
What’s Even the Point of Making a Build?
The simple answer lies in the fact that if you’re not aiming for a particular build, there’s a high chance you’ll have to improvise your loadout a lot, and scaling weapons in the game is a task in itself.
Even though resetting your stats is totally doable, going back and making another build from scratch can demand a second playthrough. Or a seventh, depending on how much you enjoy Elden Ring.
Furthermore, builds let you experience the game in several unique ways. If you’re a regular sword and shield user, maybe trying two-handed weapons can be your next thing. Or, bringing out that Glintstone Staff and casting out a spell or two can make you one of the best sorcerers in the game. Seriously, Faith and Intelligence are underrated stats in the game.
Or, maybe you’re a complete havoc of an individual and want to wield a Scythe or Katana that makes you the next Malenia in the game. Really, it’s all up to you. However, tried-and-tested builds have a way of enhancing your gameplay without wasting your time. But if you’re someone who likes to craft their own build, by all means, do so.
The Elden Ring community usually appreciates all kinds of builds, even though some of them are downright broken. If you’ve got creative ideas for your shiny gauntlets, show them off! What are your favorite builds in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
