Will Elizabeth Olsen be joining Marvel again? Everyone is interested in knowing the response to this question. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe want to see her back on screen after WandaVision and Doctor Strange 2.
In an interview with Variety, Elizabeth Olsen was asked about her future in the MCU. She responded that she was not returning to anything at the moment. She is not doing anything for Marvel in any way. However, it appears that Wanda Maximoff will return. According to reports, she will join Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool 3.
How Elizabeth Olsen Responded to Deadpool 3 Announcement?
Hugh Jackman‘s announcement that he would be returning as Wolverine in the eagerly awaited Deadpool 3 drove fans into a frenzy. Ryan Reynolds revealed the Deadpool-Wolverine crossover in a social media video, which led to a wave of reactions on the internet.
Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, too expressed her awe at Jackman’s comeback. She added that she would like to collaborate with more X-Men characters on the big screen.
She continued by expressing curiosity about seeing the Scarlet Witch appear alongside the X-Men in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
“I don’t know. I think if whenever we bring in X-Men – I guess Wolverine is X-Men, right? I mean, it would be cool to work with a lot of those people from the X-Men franchise. I think [Michael] Fassbender’s [Magneto is] my dad in some world? That would be [cool].”
Elizabeth Olsen’s most recent appearance was as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Stranger in the Multiverse of Madness. It introduced the seemingly utopian Earth-838. Wanda returned in the sequel to Doctor Strange, and her main objective was to reunite with the children she was unable to have in her own universe. She makes an appearance as the Scarlet Witch in one of the final scenes, attacks Wanda from Earth-838, and tries to convince her children to come with her. Earth-838 is a reality where Thanos got defeated, and the Ultron program worked perfectly.
Elizabeth Olsen Did Not Seem Very Eager to Return to Marvel
Elizabeth Olsen, who portrayed Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, in six Marvel Cinematic Universe films, has admitted that she is not particularly enthusiastic to reprise her role as the character. That’s because she’s “really proud” of her work as Wanda Maximoff already. When asked if she regretted missing out on the chance to play Wanda, Olsen responded, “No, I don’t. I think it’s been almost 10 years of playing her. And I’ve loved it.”
“And I think the reason why I am not calling [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige every day with ideas is because I’m proud of what we were able to do. I think WandaVision was a really surprising opportunity. If someone were to tell me that I’m fired from Marvel movies, I will feel proud of what we made.”
If the Scarlet Witch appears in more films, Elizabeth Olsen revealed in March 2023 that she wants Marvel Studios to redeem the character. Olsen said that not only does she hope the MCU can “give her some redemption,” but she wants to see Wanda get “a lot more humor” in her comeback.
Deadpool 3 hits theaters on September 6, 2024.
