TV’s greatest night, the 75th Emmy Awards, although delayed by 4 months, was a hearty and glamorous affair. From iconic speeches to head-turning looks, and of course, the wins! However, viewers caught notice of fan-favorite Pedro Pascal’s arm on a sling, similar to the 2024 Golden Globes. Much curiosity has transpired around the Last of Us star’s supported arm, despite his brief explanation at the Golden Globes last week.
While the actor had initially noted that a minor trip had caused the injury, Monday night brought a wild revelation that left the audience wide-eyed and cracking. It was also beeped out from the live telecast of the Emmys. The hilarious moment ensued after the Chilean-American actor stepped on stage to present an award.
Pedro Pascal baffled the audience with a wild story
The 48-year-old actor was invited on stage to present the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series when he made the cheeky attempt to make the moment about him. The next few seconds could leave anyone in shock, who may not have understood Pascal’s grand joke. The actor addressed the increasing curiosity around his slinged-arm, and clarified that it was actually his shoulder that was injured.
Seizing the opportunity, Pedro Pascal jokingly revealed the culprit behind the injury, getting back at an actor for his antic at the Golden Globes with an outrageous plot. As per a snippet shared by Discussing Film on X, The Game of Thrones actor said,
“I think tonight is a perfect time to tell everyone that Kieran Culkin beat the sh*t out of me.”
“A lot of people have been asking about my arm… Kieran Culkin beat the shit out of me,” – Pedro Pascal

The next thing viewers saw was a serious-faced Kieran Culkin, playing to Pascal’s fictional story. While the crowd burst into laughter, Culkin managed to keep a straight face, finally breaking into a cheeky smile. This episode comes after Culkin mocked Pascal, after the former won Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, at the Golden Globes, beating Pascal who was also nominated.
The 75th Emmy Awards rightfully honored the best
While the 81st Golden Globes that took place at The Beverly Hilton wasn’t much of a charm, the 75th Emmy Awards proved to be a treat! From several moments worth treasuring to offering recognition to deserving talents and shows, the premier event was a success.
Succession clearly dominated the Emmys with 27 nominations and bagging the award for Best Drama Series, in addition to Best Lead Actress, Best Lead Actor, Best Directing, and Best Writing. The Last of Us and Ted Lasso getting named in 24 and 21 nominations, but not winning any in major categories came off as a disappointment for fans. However, The Last of Us bagged two Emmys in the Best Guest Actor, to Nick Offerman, and Best Guest Actress to Storm Reid.
Shows like Succession, Beef, and The Bear were consistent in most categories, snatching most of the titles. However, some critically acclaimed shows that may have deserved better fate went home empty-handed. Andor, The Last of Us, and Yellowjackets got snubbed at the Emmys, with fans particularly disheartened and shocked for The Last of Us and Andor, two of the recent best in TV.
