With the recent news that a sequel to the Eternals is in development, fans are considering giving the franchise a second chance. Starring Angelina Jolie as Thena alongside an ensemble cast, the first movie failed spectacularly.
Putting the brains to work, people came up with a theory of how Jolie could team up with one of the most fearsome villains in the MCU in the sequel. With a wild theory of Eternals being able to reproduce to having contact with the High Evolutionary, the sequel could be a wild ride if Marvel decides to follow it.
The Eternals Can Now Reproduce?
As per a theory on Reddit, the High Evolutionary experimented on Eternals. In the 2021 movie, it was seen that Eternals do not have free will of their own and are essentially non-sentient beings rather than gods of the human race.

As the theory goes, the High Evolutionary is a scientist who is obsessed with perfecting the human race. The wild theory states that Eternals were all mighty and powerful while the Deviants had free will so a crossbreed between the two would be the epitome of a perfect sentient being with free will. The theory states that the High Evolutionary experimented on the Eternals which allowed them to reproduce and one of the prime examples of this theory is Eros.
During the post-credit scene of Eternals, Angelina Jolie’s Thena was seen with Harry Styles who portrayed the role of Eros. Naming himself as the brother to Thanos, Eros stated that he is also an Eternal. Thus, it is entirely possible that Eternals evolved to reproduce and create other Eternals, and Eros and Thanos are living proof of this theory. Diving a little bit deeper, it seems that Angelina Jolie’s character has also made up her mind to join the bad side!
Angelina Jolie’s Thena May Join The Dark Side!
This is where the theory gets interesting. During the post-credit scene of Eternals, Thena was seen alongside Eros. When Eros introduces himself, he says that he is the brother to Thanos. The scene saw Angelina Jolie allegedly teaming up with Eros for one important task at hand.
With how every connection leads to the High Evolutionary, it seems that Thena could use Eros to get to the high evolutionary and join hands with him. There are two ways this theory could go about: Either Thena joins hands with the High Evolutionary in hopes of perfecting the human race and fighting the Avengers and X-Men or Thena could simply kill the High Evolutionary. Although this theory is far from being confirmed, the world would indeed like to see Angelina Jolie and the rest of the Eternals return for a sequel.
