Paul Mescal is currently one of the up-and-coming actors in Hollywood, making a name for himself in films such as Aftersun last year, which even earned him a nomination for the Best Actor Award at the Oscars. It is evident that he is not done as far as his rise to the top is concerned.
Paul Mescal also started in All of Us Strangers, directed by Andrew Haigh, which is set to release this month. To the surprise of absolutely no one, Paul Mescal is a big star in the film and fans are eagerly waiting to see if he will steal the show once again.
Paul Mescal Was More Satisfied About Working In All of Us Strangers Than Getting An Oscar Nomination
As previously noted, Paul Mescal is starring alongside Andrew Scott in All of Us Strangers, which has understandably gotten fans hyped beyond reason already. After all, the interpersonal relationships promised in the film have already intrigued fans in a big way.
While speaking to Goldderby, Paul Mescal about the “duality” that drew him into the role of Harry in All of Us Strangers, acting opposite Andrew Scott. Mescal made it evident that he was simply overjoyed and found it satisfying to be part of the film, even more so than getting an Oscar nomination.
“He gives off a kind of air of mystery or forwardness that is potentially unsettling a bit for Adam, but as the film unravels and as you get to know Harry a bit more, there’s something kind of surprising in his kindness and tenderness.
There’s kind of two concurrent love stories happening at the same time,” Mescal observes, “one of familial love and one of romantic love, and how different they can seem on paper, but how similar those feelings are, and I think ultimately it will hopefully give an audience a kind of universal access point into it.
With the physical stuff, you’re trying to get at something that feels authentic and true and sexy, and that can be difficult when there’s lots of people running around, as I’m sure every actor under the sun has ever said for shooting intimate scenes.”
There’s a kind of intimacy that you have to inhabit and get to the point where those feelings are right on the surface. And that can only really be achieved if you really trust the actors that you’re working with and the director, which I did very much. Working with Andrew Scott and Andrew Haigh on those scenes was definitely up there in terms of one of the highlights of my career to date.”
We will have to wait and see if All of Us Strangers will end up getting Paul Mescal another Oscar nomination, as the film promises to be a deeply enriching and heartbreaking experience for fans in a big way.
All of Us Strangers Is Already Racking Up Awards
