When Captain America Opposed Iron Man

In Marvel Comics, the events of the Armor Wars became quite famous due to the complexity of the story. As per the comics, Tony Stark learned that an industrialist named Spymaster stole several plans of various equipment and weapons found in the Iron Man armor.

In hopes of deleting the data, Stark created a virus that deleted plans for every Iron Man suit from all the storage data from the entire world. While fighting his way through these villains, Tony Stark accidentally killed the second Titanium Man. With every record of the suit gone, the United States government was left with no choice but to blame the Avenger for the mistake.

The government had no choice but to criminalize Iron Man for several vigilante actions throughout the course of the Armor Wars. Having a moral sense of righteousness about him, even Captain America opposed Tony Stark as the two fought. Stark later publicly claimed that he had fired ‘Iron Man’ (a fake persona by the name of “Randall Pierce”). The later events would probably be adapted to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Armor Wars in the works.

While shooting Iron Man 3, Robert Downey Jr. had to do a stunt that ended up being quite brutal on the actor. Talking about how he broke his ankle, Robert Downey Jr. stated to Entertainment Tonight that it was actually good that his ankle was broken.

I did a write-up. Broke my ankle once but then that gave us time to do some more script provisions. It really isn’t that big a deal, it happens all the time. What doesn’t happen all the time is that the third movie in a franchise series winds up actually meeting the expectations of a pretty savvy audience.”

Well, Robert Downey Jr. was indeed right since Iron Man 3 received a rating of 7.1/10 on IMDB and a high of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. With Ben Kingsley and Gwyneth Paltrow, the MCU movie is available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.
