Hogwarts Legacy has been released for almost a full year, and even though it was a fantastic game that brought the Harry Potter and gaming communities together, it still had its drawbacks. To this day, players are unhappy with certain aspects of the game’s design, whether that be the combat, the exploration, or the map in general.

One player has taken to Reddit to express their hatred for two specific zones within the Hogwarts Legacy map, and they aren’t the only ones. There have also been commenters on this post who have expressed their negative feelings towards these locations, and others that weren’t even mentioned.

What Part of the Hogwarts Legacy Map Is Making Gamers Unhappy?

When it comes to an open-world game, you would hope that the entire map is explorable, whether it be a sandy desert, the snowy tundra, or a deep, dark, forest. Sadly, Hogwarts Legacy didn’t get the memo, as there are two locations on the game map that have caused a lot of grief for many players.

While you explore Hogwarts Legacy, you have two options for getting around the open world. You have the choice to either walk on your own two legs or fly, either using a broom or on the back of a magical beast.

For many gamers who are just looking to get from A to B at a fast rate, it would make sense to utilize the flying mechanic, which is a lot faster than walking, and allows you to go over certain obstacles like lakes, gorges, and enemies who lurk in the darkness.

Sadly, there were two locations on the Hogwarts Legacy map that stood out amongst the rest as a rather poor attempt at map design. One of these locations is on the west side of the game. It is a giant mountain that blocks a portion of the map, causing the player to have to go around rather than just flying or climbing over.

Along with this first location, there is a second mountain that blocks players who are looking for easy access to certain destinations. It is another mountain, this time near the end of the game and its map, that players are unable to climb or fly over.

Even though these trips only add an extra minute or two to your journey, it can be quite inconvenient and understandably annoying to players.

What Other Locations on the Hogwarts Legacy Map Have Caused Problems?

It must be said that the Hogwarts Legacy map is absolutely stunning, with so many different locations and secrets to find within it, but there is one location that has driven gamers absolutely mad. This is evident by all of the commenters on Reddit, as they have agreed this next location is the worst and are surprised it wasn’t mentioned in the original post.

For anyone who is a fan of Harry Potter, there are only a few locations that they would love to go to, whether it be in real life or in a video game. One of those locations is obviously Hogwarts. Another is Diagon Alley, which sadly wasn’t included in Hogwarts Legacy. But the final location that many fans would like to visit is Hogsmeade.

Unfortunately, Hogsmeade was done a disservice within Hogwarts Legacy. Even though the actual location is wonderful to see and lives up to its reputation, there was one thing players constantly found frustrating and couldn’t overlook.

The issue many players found with this location is the fact that Hogsmeade has a barrier encompassing it, which blocks players from flying over the village. Again, just like the other two locations, flying around Hogsmeade wouldn’t add a lot of time, but the inconvenience is something many players just couldn’t accept, and they still hold a grudge.
