Since then, various iterations and sequels have been introduced to us. With the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 just around the corner, the players new to the franchise must be wondering which is the appropriate order to play this series. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

This was the first installment of the original modern warfare series. Call of Duty 4 was released in 2007 and was the game in the franchise to deal with something outside of world war 2. The events in the game occurred in 2011. Two playable protagonists are Soap from the SAS and Jackson from the USMC. The main storyline revolves around them trying to intercept massive terrorist activity.

Call of Duty dropped the sequel to their original Modern Warfare series in 2009 after the massive success of the first game. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was one of the best games in the entire Modern Warfare series. The action scenes in the game were purely out of a movie at that time. Along with missions that revolved around the USA being invaded by the entire force of the Russian army and an epic battle in the White House. The main plot follows the journey of Captain Soap leading Task Force 141 and hunting down a psychotic war criminal, Vladimir Makarov.

The original Modern Warfare series ended with this marvelous iteration. This is one of the most liked games in the franchise, mainly due to engaging missions and breathtaking actions. Captain Price and Soap pick up the trail they left in Modern Warfare 2 and start chasing Makarov to stop him from deploying his psychotic war criminal activities. Joining forces, the Delta Force, SAS, and TaskForce 141 ended the Ultranationalist threat.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare, released in 2019, isn’t a remastered version of the game released in 2007. Instead, it follows an entirely different storyline. However, one of the classic characters of the series remains in the game, Captain Price. The game follows the story of Price as he joins hands with the CIA and some Freedom fighters to stop the Russians from taking over Urzikstan.

The plot of this game revolves around Task Force 141, who are trying to prevent a dangerous Iranian terrorist threat.
