Melissa Barrera found controversy all over the world due to her comments on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Starring alongside Jenna Ortega in the upcoming movie Scream 7, Barrera was fired from the franchise, and the movie was left without a lead actress.
Although her statements were indeed quite controversial, there were several actors and actresses who supported Barrera. Taking to Twitter, a thread showcased all the actors supporting Melissa Barrera.
1) Bonnie Wright
Known for her role as Ginny Weasely in the Harry Potter franchise, Bonnie Wright stood in solidarity with Barrera. With Jenna Ortega departing the franchise for unknown reasons, Bonnie Wright reposted a story on Instagram that showed solidarity in their field of work.
With the #BoycottScream making rounds around the internet, Wright supported the movement but hasn’t given a clear stand on the statement.
2) John Cusack
Known for portraying the lead role in 2012, John Cusack also stood firmly with Melissa Barrera’s statements on Gaza. With Berrera stating that “Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp” and “Cornering everyone together, with nowhere to go, no electricity no water”, Cusack also supported Berrera in her statements.
Stating that the actress was speaking facts, Cusack stated that it was incredulous to see an artist fired for speaking facts and even tweeted in support of her!
3) John Wesley Shipp
John Wesley Shipp is an American actor known for portraying the role of Barry Allen in The Flash from 1990 to 1991. Starring in Dawson’s Creek, Shipp has had quite a career over the years. Standing in support of Jenna Ortega’s departure and Barrera’s statements, Shipp complimented the stance.
Taking to Twitter, the actor stated that Jenna Ortega was “putting her money where her principles are”, Shipp was indeed proud of the actress’s decision to leave the franchise.

Starring alongside Sydney Sweeney in the 2020 film titled Nocturne, Asia Jackson is a young and budding actress stepping into Hollywood. With her ideologies, the actress was quick to take sides with Melissa Barrera.
Stating that these were “wild times we’re living in folks”, Jackson was bold enough to speak out her opinion in front of the world.

Taking to her Instagram story, the actress reposted a story of Barrera’s removal from Scream VII with the words “So we’re all boycotting spyglass films now, yea?” written below.
