Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is making rounds on the Internet and why not, this is the final installment of James Gunn’s trilogy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not just that, the film is also going to be the last project of the DC Studios co-CEO in Marvel, making it quite special once again. However, this special treatment is somehow overshadowing other great films in the MCU that were released shortly before the new one.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was released in November last year, that revolves around the leaders of Wakanda fighting to protect their nation in the wake of King T’Challa(Chadwick Boseman )’s death. The project was quite anticipated as it was also honoring the lead star who passed away from colon cancer.

It not only grossed over $859 million worldwide, but it also won a Costume Design Academy Award. Given that it performed well, winning many hearts, many saw the new MCU film, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is gaining immense attention with many claiming that “The MCU is back.”

Though the fans want people to give respect to Coogler’s project as well given that it did well at the box office, another fraction of fans are continuing to support GOTG 3. The new film not only touched many strings of their hearts, it also amplified the direction of the MCU film which was not evident in the past few releases including this year’s Ant-man 3.

Even though the 2022 film had the third-strongest opening for a Phase 4 movie with Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness taking the top positions, it soon revealed its potential. While the film got an Oscar for its costume design, it still wasn’t able to properly align the film with its goals. Many felt that the film was unable to justify the record-breaking runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes.

While it was unable to impress a large number of fans, it still was a masterpiece on its own which beautifully portrayed the demise of the late actor, Boseman’s death in the film. His presence was missing in the film but the essence kept on making fans attached to it.
