It was speculated that they had a feud on set which resulted in their split attendance; however, this remained a hearsay until crew members came forward for a tell-all session.

Crew Members Opened Up About Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni Controversy

It Ends With Us was a raging box office success. The intense promotion paired with Blake Lively’s star power helped the film churn a profit. Based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel of the same title, it follows the life of Lily Bloom who finds herself torn between two partners, her abusive husband Ryle Kincaid and her first love Atlas Corrigan.

The first thing fans would have noticed at the movie’s premiere was that Lively and Justin Baldoni weren’t in the same room. This looked very odd since they were the main stars of the film. Since then, words have spread that they weren’t on good terms.

Now, three crew members have come forward to shed light on the issue via an interview with Rolling Stone. They have noticed the shift in attitude in both Lively and Baldoni, with the former previously looking enthusiastic about the project and eventually losing interest as the production rolled.

Everyone knew that they didn’t like each other,” the crew member claimed adding they don’t hate each other but they just have different styles. “Blake is very business-minded and very practical. Justin is so on the other side,” the source remarked. The creative differences have caused tension which resulted in both of them avoiding each other on set.

It didn’t help that “there were such conflicting ideas of how to make the movie” because as a producer, Lively has a lot of say in it that Baldoni cannot just dismiss. The crew members said that the actress was very involved in how she wanted her character to look, even bringing scrapbooks containing her own ideas which conflicted with the costume department’s plans. Even with the set design, there had been opposing ideas.

Contrasting opinions are pretty much a normal occurrence in the business; however, the crew members noted that Lively and Baldoni were pretty civil with each other and they dealt with everything professionally.

Will There Be A Sequel To It Ends With Us Movie?

Neither Lively nor Baldoni have initiated to address the chatter publicly, although it seems obvious they wouldn’t want to work with each other again. This brings us to the possibility of making a sequel to It Ends With Us.

Since the 2024 romance drama was such a hit, it warrants a follow-up film that will tackle the events in Hoover’s second book. Unfortunately, this looks like a vague idea given the situation of the lead stars.

It Ends With Us is currently showing in theaters worldwide.
