The Boys has once again taken over the internet after the release of its Season 4. While this season has brought some interesting new changes to the story of the Amazon Prime hit series, one of the primary highlights was Laz Alonso. Mother’s Milk looks extremely different in the ongoing series than how he looked in the past.
The drastic transformation in Laz Alonso’s look has raised varied reactions on the internet. While several fans wondered if the character was recast, many others even rolled out creative memes on the matter. Sadly, the situation reminds us of the time when various comments were made on the late Chadwick Boseman’s physique shortly before his unfortunate demise.
Are the fans repeating a grave mistake by commenting on Laz Alonso’s new look?
In Season 4 of Eric Kripke’s The Boys, Laz Alonso‘s Mother’s Milk aka MM is presented in a thinner and clean shaved look. This has raised a widespread internet discussion among the fans of the R-rated superhero show. Interestingly, Alonso’s ardent followers already knew about the actor’s transformation journey from his Instagram.
Laz Alonso has been open about his journey on social media where he stated that his association with BioSynergy, a DNA testing company has helped him to work more on his fitness. Besides his thinner physique, he has also shaved his dense beard.
While the fans continue to discuss his transformation, an X user @EandnotY has reminded the fans to not be so harsh or make fun of someone’s looks without knowing them closely. The user stated how several netizens made fun of the late Chadwick Boseman when he appeared skinny in a social media post. Sadly, after his unfortunate death in 2020, it was revealed that the Black Panther fame was suffering from colon cancer for 4 years.
Nowadays, fans have become more critical of everything content they consume. The viewers often forget that there can be several personal reasons behind everything. More importantly, the actors are also entitled to have a personal choice on how they want to look.
Y’all remember when Chadwick Boseman appeared looking a lot skinner than he used to be and then everyone started making fun of him only to find out that he had cancer and you guys promised to stop making fun of people’s bodies in situations like this? Yeah… https://t.co/hLD8kalJB9

Although some fans may consider it unfair to compare Boseman and Alonso’s situations, it cannot be denied that we are living in a time, where fans’ toxicity often overlooks the craft in favor of other aspects.
How did Laz Alonso describe his transformation?
Laz Alonso has worked on some of the most renowned projects before contributing to the success of Amazon Prime’s The Boys. The 50-year-old worked under the legendary James Cameron when he played the role of Na’vi warrior Tsu’tey in 2009’s science-fiction epic Avatar. He was also the antagonist in Fast & Furious.
In the Instagram post made by him on December 2023, the Jarhead actor shared that the DNA test he underwent “literally revolutionized” the way he took care of his body. Instead of overburdening the body with unnecessary nutrients, the actor focused on the nutrients he lacked.
Anything that you put in your body that your body doesn’t need, your body is just gonna excrete, but it just puts your body under unnecessary stress, having to filter out stuff that you didn’t need in the first place.
Alonso added that he had to let go of his love for pizza to trim down the unnecessary fat. The actor has claimed that these changes acted positively on his body. Although all the fans may not like his new look, he does not deserve the unnecessary trolling for working on improving his wellbeing.
The Boys can be streamed on Amazon Prime.
