Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, has become a global phenomenon. The film became the standout blockbuster of the year. The director recently disclosed that she adopted a unique approach during the film’s opening weekend in July. She discreetly positioned herself in the rear of the theater to observe the audience’s response firsthand.

Greta Gerwig Fought With The Studio To Keep Ryan Gosling’s Dance
Greta Gerwig described how the script simply indicated that a dream ballet would unfold, allowing the characters to resolve their issues through dance.
Gerwig said (via Variety):
“There was a big meeting that was like, ‘Do you need this?’ And I was like, ‘Everything in me needs this.’ They were like, ‘What do you even mean? What is a dream ballet?’ And I was like, ‘A dream ballet? Where do I begin!'”
Gerwig drew inspiration from Singing in the Rain for the scene, pointing out that the classic movie musical features a “dream ballet within a dream ballet,” which greatly influenced her creative vision.
Gerwig has recently come from the remarkable triumph of her film Barbie, which achieved a staggering global box office revenue exceeding $1 billion. This accomplishment not only secured its position as the highest-grossing movie of the year up to that point but also etched its place in history as the highest-grossing film directed by a solo female director.
Featuring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling taking on the role of Ken, the whimsical comedy delves into the adventures of these iconic dolls as they venture into the realm of reality. The star-studded cast of Barbie includes America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Helen Mirren, and Will Ferrell.
Greta Gerwig Is Having Nightmares After Barbie’s Success
Greta Gerwig is having nightmares even after her remarkable success. This revelation emerged during her appearance at the London Film Festival, where she was queried about her upcoming directorial endeavor post-Barbie. As reported by TMZ, when the 40-year-old director was probed about her next project, her response was as follows:
“It’s hard and I’m having recurring nightmares.”
The precise reasons for the perceived difficulty remain undisclosed, but audiences have taken it upon themselves to uncover more details.
There is substantial speculation that Greta Gerwig may be referring to her forthcoming directorial project, The Chronicles of Narnia, for which she has been entrusted with the significant responsibility of both writing and directing two film adaptations based on C.S. Lewis’s books of the same title.
