Did Shia LaBeouf Really Have S-x on Screen?

The 2013 movie Nymphomaniac sought to follow the path of films like Intimacy and 9 Songs, and Shia LaBeouf was fully prepared to embrace it. After all, it proved to be the perfect opportunity for him as he aimed to distance himself from the image of a commercial hit star, films such as Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull provided. He wanted to get rid of the Disney kid image, he had been holding on to for many years.

Thus, LaBeouf went to great lengths to secure a role in the film, and once he succeeded, he made sure not to take it for granted, as evident from his 2012 MTV interview. He claimed,

“There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we’re doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we’ll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening.”

Later, it came to light that the intimate scenes in question were, in fact, enacted by p*rn actors and enhanced with the use of CGI effects. Despite Shia LaBeouf’s dedication to the role, the decision to employ professionals for these explicit sequences was made to ensure both authenticity and artistic integrity in the final production.

“The first info we got – and I’ll never forget this because my entire team reacted with such a fear – the first request on the production end, not from Lars[Von Trier]… was pictures of my p*nis… Lars goes, ‘Alright… Send him the letter’. The letter was, ‘Are you game?’ I guess the first test was, ‘Let’s time how long it takes this motherf**ker to send his d**k over the Internet.’ It was like 20 minutes. So they were like, ‘All right, kid’s ready.”
