'Everytime he talks I lose more faith': Fans Convinced MCU is Doomed after Avengers 5 Writer Reveals He Doesn't Care about MCU Phases, Says "We've got a plan"

Marvel has successfully leveraged the present craze of superheroes to produce some of the best superhero movies. MCU is best known for its Avengers series which features the Earth’s mightiest superheroes. Fans were left impressed after the release of Avengers: Endgame. The movie is one of the highest-grossing movies in the world. Fans are eagerly waiting for the fifth installment of the Avengers series which is titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

MCU has officially started its phase 5 with the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. The transition between phase 4 and phase 5 is of grave importance as phase 5 introduces the upcoming major villain of the franchise, Kang who is being played by Jonathan Majors. The makers decided to build the hype of the upcoming villain by introducing him early to hook the audience. All the elements of phase 5 will eventually result in a meaningful Avengers 5 which is scheduled to be released in 2025. But the writers of Avengers 5 have something completely different in their minds.

Jeff Loveness Remains Unbothered of MCU Phases

Jeff Loveness is an American screenwriter and has written the story of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Loveness is also contributing to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty as its main writer. In an interview, Loveness shared that he had no idea about the phase in which his Ant-Man movie was going to be released.

“Oh, I don’t know what phase we’re on. I have heard the term ‘Phase Five’ more in the last two months than [the entire time making the movie.] [Laughs] No, I think that’s more of almost a thing for the internet than anything. Like, obviously there are 30 Marvel movies. You want them to connect. You want to propel them into the next phase, which this is the beginning of.”

Loveness assured the MCU fans that the creative team has the plan to continue the legacy of Marvel. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer believes that it is not important to link every movie with each other to create a good movie.

“We’ve got a plan and it’s going to be very exciting with Avengers. But in the back of my head, I’m a kid from a small town of like 200 people. We didn’t even have a movie theater in my town. So in the back of my head, I thought ‘My cousin’s going to go watch this. Who knows if he’s seen Loki? Let’s just make a fun movie.’ Even if you just know who Paul Rudd is, you kind of get what’s going on. Context clues will help you out with the rest.”

Jeff Loveness’s Attitude Towards MCU Phases Worries The Fans

Loveness added that he focuses on writing good movies rather than being worried about which phase it’s gonna release. He shares his writing goal as he stated that his prime focus stays on creating a fun movie that could be easily understood without watching the prior movies.

“You know, I just tried to focus on writing this movie, and then you can kind of fish-food a couple of things to go forward. I could care less about what phase we’re in. It’s more about just making this fun family adventure comedy with a great villain. I think, at the end of the day, that’s what people want to watch, and if you do your job right, it gets people excited going forward.”

It appears like the fans were not impressed by the words of the MCU writer and shared their concern for the same.
