Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire New Trailer
The Ghostbusters franchise has recently dropped the trailer for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, its upcoming sequel to its 2021 film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. This is an extremely anticipated film for fans who are deeply invested in the genre, as it brings back Paul Rudd for his role as Mr. Gooberson, as well as the fact reboot series has been doing exceptionally well, and they love that it is continuing. This recent trailer featured the majority of the cast, including Rudd, Bill Murray, McKenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, and Kumail Nanjiani.
It introduced the plot of the story, which was surrounded by a chill of mystery surrounding the sudden freezing of the people of New York City. The city was seen covered in icicles and it most certainly lived up to its name. Fans, however, couldn’t help but notice how this concept, was extremely similar to that of Jake Gyllenhaal’s film, The Day After Tomorrow. While whether or not this film was inspired by the 2004 film may never be confirmed, similarities were pointed out by many on Twitter.

After the trailer hit Twitter, fans were quick to comment that a lot of the film seemed like a spoof of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s film, with some calling it ‘Ghostbusters: The Day After Tomorrow’. When this was pointed out by one fan, many chimed in, stating that they couldn’t help, but also notice this similarity, adding that this was the first thing that popped into their head when they saw the trailer.
