Henry Cavill is Among the Frontrunners to be the Next Agent 007

For a very long time, fans have been pleading with Henry Cavill to play the MI6 secret agent. The actor has also mentioned in interviews that he hopes to portray the illustrious role in the future. He even auditioned for the 2006 franchise reboot.

However, as Cavill has only turned 40, and the Bond producers have stated that they were searching for an actor in their thirties to play the PPK-waving role, so does this rule him out of contention? We must hold out for that.

British Intelligence Expert Suggests Who Should Be the Next 007?

On social media, fans are speculating who should replace James Bond, with options like Henry Cavill and Idris Elba being mentioned.

While many names are rumored for that iconic role, British intelligence expert John Taylor explains that this role should be played by an actor either Black or female, or both.

Talking to The Telegraph, the British intelligence expert said:

“[Bond is the] biggest recruitment aid. The only thing chiefs, I think, would want to change, going back to an earlier conversation, and it may happen yet, is that James Bond should be a black man, or a woman, or a black woman, and you know [it] would make those sort of people also, for diversity, want to join. James Bond has been nothing but good.”

Barbara Broccoli has already said that she does not think a woman should play James Bond. Rather she believes in making characters for women and not just having women play men’s roles.

So, the hunt for the role continues. And it’s very much open.
