Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, the upcoming title in Ubisoft’s long-running and extremely diverse Assassin’s Creed series, is shaping up to be a highly anticipated game because of some iconic and familiar faces returning. Three beloved protagonists from previous instalments in the video game series are all set to make their grand comebacks, and fans will get to experience their return in glorious virtual reality.

One of these is quite possibly the most popular assassin in the gaming landscape, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, whose last appearance in the game series took place more than a decade ago in 2011’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.

Although Ezio’s return may be the one that stands out, there are two other instantly recognizable past protagonists who are joining him in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR. One of them is the Spartan Eagle Bearer from 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Kassandra, and the other is the patriotic Ratonhnhaké:ton, more commonly known as Connor Kenway, from 2012’s Assassin’s Creed 3.

The upcoming VR entry in Ubisoft’s action-adventure franchise is all set to be released in just a couple of months, on November 16.

Moreover, Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is going to be released exclusively for Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3 later this year. Ubisoft revealed the release date in a brand new trailer for the title, which showed more of what fans can expect from its gameplay and the three returning protagonists.

The footage highlights how VR will be incorporated into the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game by providing a closer look at the parkour and combat that have always played significant roles throughout the series.

Since Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR aims to be an immersive virtual reality experience, fans will get to witness everything from a first-person point of view. When players are in control of Connor, they will discover more details about the American Revolution that took place in the late 1700s. When they are Ezio, fans will be able to parkour through Italian architecture during the 15th century Renaissance, and as Kassandra, they can live out their ancient Greek mercenary fantasies.

Aside from the familiar faces from the past returning in Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, all of the other iconic gameplay features from the series will be present as well, with the only difference being that players will get to experience them from a unique first-person perspective. These include extremely convenient leaps of faith, parkour elements, amazing weapons like the hidden blades, and a lot more.

The new gameplay trailer is not the first footage that Ubisoft has shown from the game, as it announced the title back in June with an initial trailer, which was unfortunately overlooked because of the sheer amount of Assassin’s Creed announcements that followed it.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR also marks the first time that a game in the series features three assassin protagonists. Ubisoft had previously shared pre-rendered animations that hinted at what the gameplay could look like, but with the most recent proper look, it seems like the upcoming title could turn out to be very interesting.
