Regardless of how hard Rockstar tries to keep information about GTA 6 under wraps, the title has fallen victim to numerous leaks, even before the developer revealed that it was in the works. Some of these leaks turned out to be true, such as the game having two protagonists and the first trailer being leaked hours before it was meant to be officially shared.
But since it’s the internet and the next Grand Theft Auto is one of the most anticipated games of all time, there’s going to be a lot of false information spread about the Rockstar title, with people trying their best to make these supposed leaks sound as authentic as possible.
Latest Potentially False GTA 6 Leak Mentions the Inclusion of Thunderstorms
Grand Theft Auto VI is a game that fans have been looking forward to for more than a decade, so although it’s wrong, it makes sense for accounts like GTAVI Gossip on X to spread misinformation about the title due to high levels of anticipation.

According to the potentially false rumor, a developer at Rockstar “accidentally” leaked how long it would take for players to complete the story of the next Grand Theft Auto, which revealed that the game’s main plot will take 40 hours to get through. It didn’t stop there, as it also claims that the title will include extreme weather mechanics, mentioning the inclusion of “thunderstorms.”
To add some authenticity to the latest Grand Theft Auto rumor, two images were attached to the post, with one being a screenshot of the alleged Rockstar Games developer’s LinkedIn profile, who is someone called Sonny Blyth, a Games Tools Programmer at the North studio. The other image is what the leak revolves around, which states that the developers “are focusing on finalizing the weather dynamics, particularly thunderstorms.”
New Grand Theft Auto Rumor Suggests Varied NPC Behavior
According to what the Grand Theft Auto leak claims, Rockstar is working on making “sure NPC behavior and activities change depending on temperature,” building on the rumor about the weather dynamics.
Another aspect of the potential misinformation is that the developer may be done creating its magnum opus and is now verifying “that bugs and glitches are none.”
The account that shared the post backtracked on its statement about the game’s alleged story length as other users on X called it out, which should be a lesson for everyone to always take these rumors with a grain of salt until something is officially revealed.
