Dakota Johnson notes Hollywood is in a ‘f***king bleak’

During a recent interview with L’Officiel, the upcoming superhero actress sat back and reflected upon bringing her Indie drama Daddio to the film festival last year and noted that it took a lot of effort to get the movie sold. She said,

“We made a movie called Daddio that was sold at Telluride to Sony Classics, which was amazing but it took a lot of fighting to get that made. People are just so afraid and I’m like ‘Why? What’s going to happen if you do something brave?’”

The Fifty Shades‘ actress continued,

“It just feels like nobody knows what to do and everyone’s afraid. That’s what it feels like. Everyone who makes decision is afraid. They want to do the safe thing and the safe thing is really boring.”

Dakota Johnson goes ahead and says that she is now discovering that it’s f**king bleak in the industry, and it’s disheartening, adding that it’s so hard to get anything made. Johnson mentions that all the stuff she is interested in making is really different, unique, and very forward.
