Netflix has decided to make a live-action adaptation of Oda’s manga series, the artist shared his few considerations when the OTT platform came up with the idea.

Eiichiro Oda’s Conditions For One Piece Live Adaptation

With only a few days remaining for the release of the live adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, the OTT platform is heavily promoting the show. On the official channel on YouTube, they have been regularly uploading interviews or any other form of engaging content with the cast members of the show that will get the fans excited for the live adaptation.

While some One Piece fans are having their doubts that the live adaptation of their beloved show would be disgraceful as Netflix does not have good experience in creating successful adaptations. However, Netflix saw those negative comments and now they have unveiled the comments of Eiichiro Oda so that fans can have faith in the adaptation.

The production of the One Piece adaptation began back in 2017, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Fans need not worry as Tomorrow Studios is behind the live-action series, and they were also part of the canceled action adaptation, Cowboy Bebop. Big names like Steven Maeda and Matt Owens are also part of the production. As a result, fans can understand that Netflix and Oda are not fooling around, and they are committed to making the TV Series a success.

“After the launch, I’m sure I’ll hear about some people pointing out how this character is missing or that scene is omitted, or this bit is different from the manga. But I’m sure they’ll come from a place of love, so I intend to enjoy even these comments.

“I just love this production team and the cast so much that I can’t wait for them to get the acclaim they deserve from everyone around the world. And if by chance people have some gripes, I’ll be there to receive them together.”

Oda shared this message with all his fans, followers, and ardent One Piece fans. He is totally aware that a live show will lack a few aspects that were seen in the manga and anime. He urged the fans to not compare the live show with the anime or manga, and watch the show with an open mind so that they can enjoy the show to the fullest.
