Since Marvel Studio announced Fantastic Four under phase 6 of the MCU, fans have been predicting the cast of the upcoming film. John Krasinski played Mr. Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, after which fans started speculating that he would continue playing the role. However, it turned out to be a rumor. Since then, many names have joined the rumored cast of the upcoming film, but the studio has not confirmed anything yet.

Lucifer star Tom Ellis is the latest addition to the list and is rumored to be cast as Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, in Fantastic Four. At the D23 Expo, fans were expecting to meet the cast of the highly anticipated film. However, Kevin Feige only introduced Matt Shakman as the director of Fantastic Four.

Tom Ellis Rumored to be Running for the Role of Reed Richards in Fantastic Four

Reports had that the studio has started looking at actors for the cast of its upcoming film. After many actors, Tom Ellis is now rumored to play Mr. Fantastic. A celebrity gossip social media page, DeuxMoi, has revealed that Tom Ellis and Maddie Hasson are reportedly running for the role of Reed Richards and Susan Storm. 

Tom Ellis is popularly known for his role in Lucifer. He played Lucifer Morningstar in the urban fantasy television series. The Fox original was moved to Netflix in December 2018 and ran for a total of six seasons. Ellis also reprised his role as Lucifer in CW’s The Flash episode of the Arrowverse crossover “Crisis on Infinite Earths.”

The actor did a great job with his character in the show, and fans believe that he could be a great choice to play Mr. Fantastic. While some believe that the Miranda star is not a good choice for the role, many are supportive of Ellis taking over as Reed Richards in the MCU.

Jason Biggs Reportedly Auditioned for the Role of The Thing

Tom Ellis is not the only new actor rumored to join the cast of Fantastic Four. American Pie star Jason Biggs has reportedly auditioned for the role of The Thing. Reports also suggest that Daveed Diggs also auditioned for Fantastic Four, but it is unspecified which part he auditioned for. 

However, fans believe that the Hamilton star may have auditioned for the role of Johnny Storm, aka Human Torch. Maddie Hasson and Alexandra Daddario are the top contenders for Susan Storm.

The studio has officially not revealed anything about the cast of the film. DeuxMoi, the celebrity gossip page, has reported that Marvel has started auditioning for the film. There are other actors as well, who can possibly join the cast of the movie.

Fantastic Four set to kick off MCU’s Phase 6

Ryan Gosling is considered to take on the role of supervillain and is expected to appear in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released on November 11, 2022. 

Marvel recently announced a new release schedule for phase 5 and phase 6. Under this new schedule, Fantastic Four will be released on February 14, 2025.
