The Fantastic Four movie is one of the highly anticipated superhero films. Fans can’t wait to see Marvel’s first family in the MCU for the first time. There’s already intense speculation over the casting of the main 4 team members. While the discussion around the casting of Sue Storm and Reed Richards has dominated social media conversation, everyone is also interested in the other two members. Now a new report mentions that Marvel Studios has a specific requirement for casting the hulk of the team- Ben Grimm/ The Thing.
Marvel Studios On Casting The Thing In Fantastic Four
On The Hot Mic podcast, film insider Jeff Sneider spilled the beans on what kind of actor Marvel Studios is looking to cast as The Thing in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. As per the industry expert, the company is looking to hire a Jewish actor to play Ben Grimm. He said:
“I had heard at one point that they were looking at a person of color for the Thing. I have heard The Thing is gonna be Jewish. They wanted to stay true to the comics and I believe at some point in the comics, Ben Grimm is Jewish.”

As for who could play the role, How I Met Your Mother fame’s Jason Segel is currently the popular fan cast. While MCU fans are eagerly waiting to know which actors will play the 4 beloved characters, it can’t be denied that interest in the casting of Sue Storm and Reed Richards is especially high.

The Casting Of Sue Storm And Reed Richards
Initially, it was speculated that Reed Richards/ Mr. Fantastic was going to be cast first since he is seen as the leader of the team. Actors like Dev Patel (The Green Knight), Diego Luna (Andor), and Adam Driver (Star Wars sequel trilogy) were rumored to be the frontrunners for the role. However, that was before Deadline’s Justin Kroll commented that Marvel was looking to cast Sue Storm/ The Invisible Woman first as the story will reportedly revolve around her. As per Kroll:
“While the film won’t shoot till top of 24, word around town is the Marvel will begin gearing up casting process of F4 this month. No names rumored for now but the belief is the focus will be casting Sue Storm first and building out the rest of the team after she is set. Stay Tuned”
