Thanks to the worldwide screening of Fast X, critics were able to let us know exactly what they thought of the film. While the reviews are mixed, it looks like everybody can agree on one thing – Jason Momoa killed it as Dante Reyes. As for Fast X itself, it might be an entertaining watch, but critics agree that it’s nothing too special.

Fast X will be hitting the theatres in no time and it’s natural for the fans to wonder whether the franchise hit it outside the park with this one or not. Well, thanks to worldwide screenings of the film, we can get just a gist of what to expect from Fast X. The reviews for Louis Leterrier’s film have been mixed ranging from someone calling it the worst F&F film to “stupidly entertaining.” However, the consensus is that Jason Momoa is the highlight of the film.

According to Gizmondo’s Germain Lussier, Fast X is the worst movie of the franchise to date and while the action is fun, it didn’t live up to its predecessors.

“Fast X’ is the worst ‘Fast’ yet. Yes, including [insert your least fave here]. The action is fun but it’s the 1st film to not up the ante from the last one & the trademark notion of ‘Family’ is an afterthought. But! Jason Momoa is God-Level in it and worth the price of admission.”

Forbes’ Simon Thompson is of the opinion that while the film “belongs to Jason Momoa” Fast X in itself is full of “ludicrousness.” However, he did say that it is “stupidly entertaining,” something the franchise is known to be.

As for Insider’s Kristen Acuna, the film is a non-stop “action thrill ride” and has the most shocking ending of all. She also compared Fast X to Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers: Infinity War, calling Momoa’s character the “Thanos of the Fast franchise.”

“Caught “Fast X’ last week! It’s a wild, non-stop action thrill ride that delivers the most shocking ending of the franchise, so far. Not perfect (end may divide fans), but it’s been growing on me & I can’t wait to see it again. Universal’s def trying to make this its ‘Infinity War.’ Wildly unpredictable, Dante feels like the Thanos of the Fast franchise.”

It sure looks like Momoa has swept everyone off their feet with his portrayal of the big bad, motorcycle-riding, Dante Reyes. In just a few days, the audience gets to judge whether they want to side with the critics or not on this one!

Vin Diesel’s Dom is in for some trouble as Momoa’s Dante has it out for him. Describing his character to Entertainment Tonight, the Aquaman actor called Dante sadistic, adding that the whole experience has been absolutely fun for him.

“He’s evil and quirky and androgynous and he’s a bit of a peacock. He’s very sadistic and fun. It’s very bizarre. It’s so fun. I haven’t played a villain in a long time.”

Momoa also added that Dante has a lot of daddy issues. Momoa plays the son of the drug lord, Hernan Reyes, and he is looking for revenge. Going by what the critics are saying, it looks like you wouldn’t want someone like Dante as an enemy!
