In recent days, there have been several reports that an Overwatch-style Marvel game called Marvel Rivals is in development at NetEase.
It was said that the game would be announced soon, and the anticipation was building, with fans looking forward to taking a glimpse at it. It seems like the wait has ended unofficially, as the first look at Marvel Rivals has been leaked, featuring several Marvel heroes.

The initial report about the unannounced game came a few days ago, suggesting that Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 third-person shooter title and would feature a roster of popular Marvel characters. The game was said to be in development for console, PC, and mobile devices, with the official announcement coming later this year.
A leak has now surfaced via X/Twitter showing the roster of the game featuring Marvel characters such as Storm, Magik, and Magneto, as well as popular characters like Iron Man, Spider-Man, and several others. It is also said that the game will be announced today. This could be true, as Marvel Games’ official X account has said that an exciting reveal will happen on March 27 at 8 AM PT/11 AM ET.

The game is part of NetEase‘s 2019 deal with Marvel to develop the games, and the two titles that have already been released are Marvel Super War and the card game Marvel Duel. According to TheStreamr, the game will be coming to PC, but mobile and console releases are not confirmed.
The same website has also claimed that the game will have a map known as Odin’s Vault and another map based on a real-life location, but it will not be New York. Other characters that are alleged to make up the roster include Bruce Banner, Loki, Storm, and Groot, among others.
Additional Rumored Details About Marvel Rivals
There were reports that the game would have environmental destruction. It is also said that there will be no player-vs.-environment mode. Moreover, the game will be more melee-based than a shooter, as the characters who originally used guns will only use them.
Thor and Moon Knight will be released as later heroes, probably as DLC. Each character is said to have their own unique powers and abilities, and more features may be added later. One of the game modes is alleged to be known as “Escort,” which will see players take on a mission to take a convoy to an undisclosed location.
Another mode called “King of the Hill” is also said to be included in the yet-unannounced game. The game is currently said to be in pre-alpha and would only be released by next year or later, but it is said that it will most probably launch in Q3 2025.
