First Shazam Fury of the Gods Trailer Debuts From SDCC

The future of the DC Extended Universe is still up in the air, but there’s some pretty interesting movies that are coming soon. Shazam Fury of the Gods just happens to be one of them. The upcoming sequel to the highly underrated film will see the continuing adventures of Billy Batson and the Shazam Family. Lights Out director David F. Sanberg of course returns behind the camera. Not many plot details are known at this point, but Shazam Fury of the Gods will introduce audiences to three new characters.

Both Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu are set to play the villains of the film, Hespera and Kalypso. Rising star and Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler is also apart of the cast but in an undisclosed role. With today being Warner Bros.’ theatrical Hall H panel, the studio has revealed the first trailer for Shazam Fury of the Gods! You can watch the video right down below!

Fury of the Gods,” which continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” stars returning cast members Zachary Levi (“Thor: Ragnarok”) as Shazam; Asher Angel (“Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer (“It Chapter Two”) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (“Promising Young Woman”) as Super Hero Freddy; Ross Butler (“Raya and the Last Dragon”) as Super Hero Eugene; Meagan Good (“Day Shift”) as Super Hero Darla; D.J. Beck. Executive producers are Walter Hamada, Adam Schlagman, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Victoria Palmeri, Marcus Viscidi and Geoff Johns.
