Ready to go down the rabbit hole? Director Lana Wachowski re-enters the crazy sci-fi world of The Matrix later this holiday season. While the first movie is one of the most well-beloved films of the franchise, its sequels haven’t met the same critical acclaim. Returning favorites such as Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are back for the fourth outing along with Jada Pickett Smith, Lambert Wilson, and Daniel Bernhardt.
Plot details are pretty much scarce but on Tuesday morning, fans were teased by a website that showed bits of new footage where you either picked the red pill or the blue pill. Well as of today Warner Bros. has released the movie’s first trailer! The Matrix Resurrections will be available to stream on HBO Max and will be in theaters on December 22nd. Other new cast members that have joined Resurrections are Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Eréndira Ibarra, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, Brian J. Smith, Ellen Hollman, and Christina Ricci all of which are disclosed roles. However, Aquaman and HBO’s Watchmen actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is rumored to be playing a young Morpheus.
