Although Clint Eastwood is one of the biggest actors and directors in Hollywood, he has said some rather concerning things as well. It may have been a long time ago, but fans were not happy about it either way.

His talent has been recognised by generations upon generations and he is a respected artist. However, some of his comments were controversial beyond understanding. These comments incidentally had to do with why the actor would have never won an Oscar.

Clint Eastwood Did Not Think He Would Win An Oscar

Clint Eastwood has won some of the biggest awards, including an Oscar. However, long before he was even nominated for one, his opinion about the Academy Awards was profusely concerning. Much before he won the award, the actor gave a speech regarding why he would never be nominated, or even win an Oscar.

“I will never win an Oscar and do you know why?” Eastwood stated. “First of all, because I’m not Jewish. Secondly, because I make too much money for those old farts in the Academy. Thirdly, and most importantly, because I don’t give a f***.”

According to the acting, one of the biggest reasons he would have never won an Oscar would be because he was not Jewish. As concerning as it may sound, this was a legitimate reason that the actor pointed out. Other reasons that he gave for the same included his fame and fortune far exceeding many people, making him easily skippable for nomination.

Clint Eastwood Won An Oscar After His Comments

After Clint Eastwood made anti-Semitic comments, his movie, Unforgiven was nominated for the Oscars. Not only did he win the award, but his future was filled with a constant flow of accolades. The actor may have not won Best Actor but the first time he got nominated, he won two Oscars. The actor took home awards for Best Picture and Best Director.

That was also not his only Oscar. He later went on to win many more Academy Awards. Eastwood won the exact two awards once again for Million Dollar Baby. Despite his comments, his actions proved otherwise, making sure he won not just one award but four.
