Fans might have feared that this would be the case with the once very popular Rocky franchise created by Sylvester Stallone, which focuses on the boxing career of Rocky Balboa. Sequel spin-offs created the Creed series, movies that focus on the boxing career of Adonis Creed, played by Michael B Jordan.

Two big names from the MCU household have come together to create Creed III, and public opinion is that the movie has done beyond well for itself. Fans reacted positively to the movie getting an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Michael B. Jordan has created something unique

Wakandan antagonist Killmonger and the Multiverse’s bane Kang the Conqueror, characters of the MCU, come together to make Creed III a resounding success. Michael B Jordan, who plays Killmonger, directed and starred in the movie, while Jonathan Majors, who plays Kang, featured opposite Jordan in the latest of the Rocky and Creed franchises.

Jordan reprises his role as Adonis Creed, who is at the zenith of his boxing career, balancing work and family well. An old old friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian, played by Majors, emerges after he is released from jail. The two face off against each other to prove that Damian still has it in him to be the best in the ring. The film has equal parts drama, action, and emotion, and makes a brilliant case for Jordan’s directorial debut.

The Rocky franchise has fans from across generations. With Jordan’s fresh take on the storyline in Creed III drawing praise from most quarters, the film earned an 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Creed III has proved that there is nothing like a good comeback for any franchise. While some complained about the film not having Rocky himself in it, they form the distinct minority, as almost everyone is going gaga over the action drama. It is a must-watch for all who are a fan of the genre.
