Superstars like John Cena and CM Punk have been the highest money makers of the WWE through merchandise sales in recent years. The WWE has been entertaining audiences for a long time and various superstars have come and gone over the years. Their aura and charisma have led to the huge sale of WWE merchandise.
However, R-Truth who returned to WWE last November after his injury, caused a spike in his popularity among audiences. He has now overtaken the two superstars and has taken the top spot in the list of the best-selling merchandise of the month.

R-Truth’s T-Shirt Leads January’s Top-Selling WWE Merchandise
In addition to the popularity of the WWE, its merchandise sales have also been another exciting aspect of the industry. Fans have been purchasing numerous merchandise of their favorite WWE superstars over the years. While John Cena was the most popular and consistent in merchandise sales, CM Punk‘s resurgence last year made him the top merchandise seller for some months.
Now, another returning superstar has taken over Punk’s place. R-Truth who made a return to the ring after a one-year hiatus, shot up to the top of the charts and became the top merchandise seller of January 2024. As put by Wrestle Features, fans have been purchasing his new T-shirts, celebrating his return after his injury in 2022. He began a storyline with Judgment Day and he beat JD McDonagh last month.
R-Truth suffered a serious injury in November 2022 at NXT during his match against Grayson Waller. He recently talked to the Cheap Heat Podcast about how he had a hole in his knee and the following infection led to him “going mentally crazy because there was a chance (that he was gonna go through) amputation.” Although he is doing better and back in the ring, he might be looking at retirement soon.

R-Truth Received a Great Career Advice From Stone Cold
R-Truth has had a prolific career in the WWE and has become a big star in the industry. Additionally, he looks up to various legendary wrestlers who came before him and Stone Cold Steve Austin especially gave him important advice early in his career to sustain in the business.
Talking to Sporf, R-Truth claimed that Austin told him to focus on his performance and entertaining the audience every time he stepped into the ring. Perfecting it would have him sustaining for a long time in the business. He said,
“Stone Cold Steve Austin, a long time ago, and Ricky Morton too, told me ‘learn how to work the stick’. And I been working the stick ever since. That’ll keep you in business for years. Austin taught me that.”

R-Truth’s return to WWE last year has been celebrated by fans and he is sure to continue putting on great performances going forward. It remains to be seen how he fares in his continuing storyline with The Judgement Day.
