The gaming community is counting on Epic Games to bounce back from Chapter 5 Season 3 after receiving mixed reactions from the new additions. The president of Marvel Studios was proud to reveal the upcoming season’s theme at D23, and fans are eager to see how Absolute Doom will shake up the experience and tie Fortnite into the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The previous season was the epitome of fun and toxic gaming, and it did not meet the gaming community’s standards and expectations. The negative reception served as a wake-up call for the developers, and it was high time for the game developers to listen to community feedback and give them the high-quality content the game is renowned for.

The cinematic teaser trailer recreated the Battle of Earth from Avengers: Endgame, the iconic clash between all the Avengers and their allies against the forces of Thanos. The teaser included the X-Men joining forces with Captain Jonesy going up against Doctor Doom, and one of their allies had a Stark rifle, arguably one of the best Fortnite weapons ever introduced.
The rifle was perfectly balanced, and the players worked on their accuracy rather than engaging their opponents head-on, which was a massive factor in the previous season. Some fans are bold enough to claim that Epic Games took the worst route possible for the live service game by introducing a new modding feature for vehicles and using them as a crutch throughout the season.
Chapter 5 Season 4 Could Redeem the Developers of Fortnite
Players were vocal about their disdain with the direction of the previous season and it struck a nerve with the developers. Hopefully, Epic Games learned its lesson and re-evaluated its choices before making them a major part of the season.
Introducing a new feature to modify vehicles was a massive mistake and it encouraged players to rely on them rather than competing traditionally. The cars dissuade players from playing in competitive matches, unlike in Chapter 2 Season 4, where every lobby was stocked with enthusiastic players.
Content can determine if a season will be successful or not. The cars were a great addition; unfortunately, the developers got too ambitious and it drove away the gaming community figuratively and literally.
The game could benefit from more weapons like the Stark rifles and it is a perfect way to pivot the fans away from the shortcomings of the previous season. Players want items that encourage them to be active and not lazily rely on crutches like guns on cars.
