Chapter 5, Season 4 of Fortnite, is about to kickstart, bringing Dr. Doom to the island. Epic Games has already released a teaser showcasing the gameplay, items, and cosmetics that we can experience in the upcoming season. However, the most significant change that has gone under the radar is that battle passes won’t be exclusive moving forward.

A Fortnite battle pass is a great way for players to earn various rewards, such as cosmetics and V-Bucks. Traditionally, the cosmetics offered in most battle passes have been exclusive, meaning they are no longer available once the battle pass expires. Surprisingly, Epic Games is changing how they function, making them no longer exclusive.

A Big Update to Fortnite Battle Passes

For 950 V-Bucks, a battle pass is usually the most value-for-money item in the game, as it allows players to earn cosmetics, XP, and even a few V-Bucks. Furthermore, a battle pass is geared towards that season’s theme, making it more special.

A major appeal of buying the battle pass is that the cosmetics we get from it are usually exclusive. Hence, once the season ends, players cannot earn those rewards from anywhere unless Epic Games decides to add them to the shop (in rare cases).

As posted by Twitter user @ShiinaBR, this won’t be the case from the upcoming season onwards, as rewards on battle passes will likely come to the in-game shop after a while. This has frustrated a few fans, as grinding for rewards won’t be anything special, and they can be bought later using V-Bucks.

It’s still unclear whether older battle pass rewards (before Chapter 5, Season 4) will come to the shop. However, given that the rewards won’t be exclusive anymore, Epic Games may add older rewards to the shop as well.

While Dr. Doom and his army might be the focus of the next season, we know that the Fantastic Four will also be making an appearance. Given that the superhero theme has been around for a while, the Fantastic Four will fit right in.

The teaser that was dropped recently showcased a plethora of new characters and items that will feature in the next season. Although we didn’t see any Fantastic Four members in the teaser, an image has surfaced displaying a bunker with the iconic “4” symbol, insinuating they will come to Fortnite.

Apart from the Fantastic Four, Marvel characters like Gwenpool and Warmachine will join the game. We will also see bizarre characters, such as Captain Jonesy and Peelverine, rallying against Dr. Doom.
